Jan Wysocki
IT Expert
I have spent my entire professional career in the IT industry. Starting as an amateur programmer, somewhere in the early years of elementary school, through working as a professional software engineer, then architect, ending with designing and managing entire technology transformations in large companies, including Cloud implementation and DevSecOps transformation. Technology continues to fascinate me, but I have always been most interested in its practical applications. Unfortunately, very often technological innovations do not translate into solutions that are generating real value for companies or individuals. I like to look for strategies and tools that bring tangible benefits and real solutions. I also like to explain the potential of various technologies for people with no technical experience. This is one of the reasons why I wrote a book called “Bits of IT”, which is about just that.

Experienced Manager
From managing a team of several students starting their professional careers to managing a department of over a hundred top domain experts, managerial responsibilities have always been a large part of my job. Nevertheless, what I love about being a leader is working with people, unleashing their full potential and supporting their development. I’m the type of leader who firmly believes that the best way to manage a team is to listen to their voice and remove obstacles that stand in the way.
Lifeguard
I am a Rescuer of Polish Mountain Rescue Service (GOPR) and the President of the GOPR Foundation, a Public Benefit Organization (KRS:0000607021) supporting both the activities of this Mountain Rescue Service and its members who found themselves in a difficult situation. I perform both of these functions as volunteer. Both of these activities are a great source of pride for me, but also of great satisfaction. I love helping others, and I also use my mountain experience later in the lowlands. I believe in the existence of “good Karma” that always returns. I also believe that volunteering is still an underestimated mean of building self-awareness and fulfilment.

Author, Speaker, Mentor
I like to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Inspire them to act, help them believe in themselves, but also debunk myths and limitations that hold them back. I try to do it in many ways: writing, speaking, but above all listening. I could probably call myself a professional listener, although I realize that this term would be very shallow. Although a book or a viral speech can reach thousands or even millions of people, only the time spent 1:1 with a specific person, on active, honest listening gives me the greatest satisfaction and allows me to witness, sometimes very small, but still a change in the world for the better.
Besides…
I like to play the guitar and piano, sing, paint pictures, work with wood or tinker with classic cars and sometimes travel. And still have time for all this. Lack of time is one of the most frequently repeated lies, and burnout or simply overwork is an increasingly common cause of illness. Too often I see people postponing their lives for later, and yet my rescue experience just as often makes me realize that “later” may not come at all. I try to enjoy life, here and now, and encourage others to do the same.
